Portfolio

From time to time I take a picture I particularly like. Here's a collection of such images.

Portfolio

During every session, on every roll of film, there are photographs of varying quality. Most are rejected and get deleted immediately. A minority are "keepers". From time to time, I take a picture I particularly like. These are "portfolio images". Below I present examples of such photographs, divided into a few categories:

  1. Digital Studio Photographs
  2. Digital Macro and Closeup Photographs
  3. Digital Nature and Landscape Photographs
  4. Analogue Urban Photographs
  5. Analogue Nature and Landscape Photographs

Digital Studio Photographs

Occasionally, I set up an ad-hoc scene to photograph something within the comfort of my living room. I find that a mirrorless camera does the best job since in studio (or product, if you will) photography, the devil is in the details.

Digital Macro and Closeup Photographs

For macro photography, I tend to use one of my modern macro lenses. I often carry a speedlight and a diffuser to make the light as soft as possible. Closeups are less demanding in terms of lighting so I often use natural light. Also, I resort to using a variety of lenses, mostly adapted vintage glass.

Digital Nature and Landscape Photographs

I like roaming forests and fields in my local area. For woodland scenes, I prefer to use my digital camera body, paired with virtually any lens, be it a modern zoom or a vintage prime. I usually slap a polariser on that to reduce greyish reflections on the foliage.

Analogue Urban Photographs

In urban settings, analogue photography works well for me. I have several camera bodies and a few lenses for each. I usually pick one, grab a selection of 2-4 lenses and go on a walk to see what I can find. I regularly visit local parks and city centres alike so there's a variety of subjects.

Analogue Nature and Landscape Photographs

As I've already mentioned, I'm more inclined to photograph nature using a digital camera. Sometimes I decide to take my film gear. That's when photos like these are made.
